Factors To Consider When Evaluating Office Space Rental Options

Choosing the office space that your staff will work in has a significant impact on their productivity. If your office needs to move, here are factors to consider as you evaluate new office space rental options.

Overall Size of the Space

The overall size of the office space available is the most significant factor to consider, for it must be able to accommodate all of your workes. Moreover, the space has to be large enough not only for everyone currently working in your office but also for any new employees that you hire in the future.

You can easily tell the total size of different office space rental options by checking the square footage of each listing. If you don't know how many square feet you need to rent, ask your current landlord what the square footage of the space that you're in is and gauge your needs based on that number.

Number of Private Office Spaces

How many private offices you need depends on what your employees do.

If many employees regularly meet with clients or have confidential conversations, you'll need an office space rental that has a good number of private office spaces for employees to use. You might also want enough private office spaces to give the higher-up employees their own personal room to work in.

In contrast, a lot of office spaces can make working in other office settings difficult. If most of your employees don't need their own office space, having private office spaces will only make the area that you rent harder to use. In this situation, a large, open office space rental is preferable.

Quantity of Conference Rooms

The office space rental that you choose should have enough conference rooms to meet your employees' needs when the most meetings are going on. For instance, you'll need three conference rooms if three meetings are held simultaneously on Monday morning. Even if all three rooms aren't needed the other days of the week, you still need three for Monday.

If you aren't sure how many meetings your employees hold simultaneously, ask the current office manager. They'll have a schedule of when meetings have been held, and you can peruse the past month to see the peak number of meetings. If you don't think the past month is a good indication, you can look at whatever month was your company's busiest month in the past year.
